After Adam and Eve sinned, God gave them the herb of the field. Vegetables were then introduced into man’s diet. A vegetable would include any part of an edible plant that is not a product of the blossom. For example, the roots, leaves, and stalk of an edible plant make up the vegetables that man eats. After man sinned, he began to age and die; he now needed the nutrients found in vegetables.
