Why didn’t God eliminate the devil right then and there?

Matthew 13:29-30
"But he said, Nay; lest while you gather up the tares, you root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest."
Answer
Jesus explained the answer to this important question in the parable of the wheat and the tares. He said, “Let the wheat and tares (or weeds) grow together until the harvest.” If God had killed Satan right then and there, others would have wondered if maybe Satan was right, and maybe God was trying to hide this fact. God must allow Satan to demonstrate his government until all the universe is convinced that Satan’s way is wrong. Jesus said to wait until the harvest, then gather the weeds into bundles to burn.
