God's Law and Grace in Prophecy

Are the 10 Commandments still valid today?

Steve Irwin, better known as the Crocodile Hunter, died on September 4, 2006 at the young age of 44. While filming an underwater wildlife documentary, he was stabbed in the heart by a stingray. His death was called “an accident”, but for those who watched Steve in action with wild animals, it seemed that this was bound to happen sooner or later. Steve Irwin became very popular on television because he did something very unusual. He seemed to risk his life daily in order to film dangerous animals such as crocodiles, poisonous snakes, stingrays, and a host of other dangerous animals. Steve didn’t just film them, he would get really close to these animals and actually handle them in order to get “better footage” for his viewers. Ignoring or defying the laws of nature made Steve Irwin one of the most interesting and watched figures on television. Millions of people all over the world enjoyed watching this crocodile hunter risk his life to entertain his audiences. But the laws of nature, that tell us to stay away from these dangerous creatures, eventually caught up with Steve and caused his death. In many ways, the Bible is like nature. In the same way that nature has laws and consequences for breaking those laws, the Bible also tells us about a God who has laws and consequenses for breaking those laws. In this lesson you will learn what the Bible says about God’s commandments. You will also find out how important they are to God, and whether He wants us to keep them or not.
