Answer

As Peter preached to the people in Jerusalem, they became so convicted that they interrupted Peter to ask what they should do to be saved. Peter’s simple answer was to repent from sin and be baptized. Repent means to turn away from sin or stop sinning. The Apostle John said it perhaps better than anyone else; confess (or admit) your sins to Jesus in prayer. Then ask Him to cleanse you from the sin in your life. Together, Peter and John are saying: confess and repent.

You can do this right now! Open your Bible to 1 John 1:9 and do the following: 1; Pray to God and confess your sins to Him. 2; Ask Him to forgive you. 3; Then invite Him into your life to clean you up and help you to keep from sinning. Because of Jesus sacrifice on the cross, God's promise to the repentant sinner who comes to Christ through confession is that he/she will be forgiven and cleansed!)
