Is baptism connected with joining a church?

"They that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls."
Acts 2:47
"The Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved."
Answer
Jesus wants his people to belong to his church body. When the disciples baptized someone, that person was added to the church. The church is like the family of God. Children who stay with their families are much stronger and much safer than those who are outside the family. Likewise, children who are connected to Jesus' church are stronger and safer also.
