How important is baptism?

"He that believes and is baptized shall be saved."
Answer
Baptism is vitally important. Jesus said, those who believe and are baptized will be saved. When God's people were set free from their slavery in Egypt, they started on their journey towards the promised land. On their way to the promised land, the Bible says they were all baptized, as symbolized by their passing through the water of the Red Sea (see 1 Corinthians 10:1). So also, a person who has been set free from the bondage of sin and is on his way towards heaven should be baptized.
