The word “Baptize” comes from the Greek word “Baptizo” which means to submerge, plunge under, or immerse. Being buried beneath the water in baptism symbolizes Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection in our place. Many Christians say they keep Sunday instead of Sabbath in honor of the resurrection. But what did Christ give us to honor the resurrection? The Bible says baptism is how we acknowlege Christ's resurrection.
