Answer
After the Pharisees failed to trap Jesus, the Sadducees tried. The Sadducees were a pious group of religious leaders who had a peculiar belief which they wanted to prove correct. They believed that there was no resurrection of the dead, which is opposite of what the Pharisees believed. However, they put aside their differences in order to work together in trying to trap Jesus.
